The first think you need to dow is get the latest PokerStars download from their official site. One of the early things you need to learn is the ability to analyze your hand early and determine whether or not you stand a chance at winning the hand. A lot of new players are prone to chasing draws down to the final round of betting and it costs them a lot of money due to the fact there are so many rounds of betting. The sooner you determine whether you’re playing the hand the better you’ll do at the table. If you prepared to go all-in with your hand then you shouldn’t really be playing it all is my philosophy.

If you’ve never played seven card stud yet you might not know yet, but most of the cards are face up on the table so you can see some of your opponent’s hands. This is important to note because you need to analyze your opponent’s hands every hand you play. You need to look at there cards to determine if they have any draws that could beat your draws. If you’re waiting on a card for a straight you might also find out that all of them are gone from the deck which can save you a lot of money trying to chase a card that is already gone from the deck.

When you see that your opponent has a pair in there hand from the cards you can view you need to assume that they have at minimum two pairs or trips. By making this assumption you’ll be able to fold your hand unless you can beat trips or have a strong draw which could beat trips. On the other hand you also need to watch out for a full house so keep watching the cards that your opponent receives the rest of the hand.

Once you start becoming familiar with the way you play poker online, you’ll need to start using more advanced tactics. One such tactic would be pot control while playing in hands where you’re still drawing and haven’t made your hand. If you lead out and make a bet on an early street you’ll often be able to freeze the table the next street and check it if you’d like thus getting a free card. When you have a draw it’s important you try and get as many free cards as possible. On the same note when you have made your hand you need to make sure you don’t give anyone free cards. When you give your opponent’s free cards when your hand is already made you’re only asking for trouble. Your opponents could hit there draw and thus beat your made hand which would mean instead of winning a reasonable pot by betting you lost a big pot by slow playing.

Annie left her small town of Concord to go to Columbia University when she was eighteen years old as she wanted to try life in the big city. She later graduated from Columbia with a major in Psychology and English and was planning on becoming a teacher like both her parents. Her plans changed though and she went to the University of Pennsylvania to study Cognitive Psychology.

After starting her studies at the University of Pennsylvania she decided to propose to an old-time friend and leave all of her studies behind. She married her old friend Ben Duke and moved away to Colorado to live with Ben. In order to pay the bills and mortgage Annie started playing poker in local card rooms and winning quite a bit of money.

Once her brother Howard seen how well she was doing at the local poker rooms in Colorado he made a suggestion to her that she should join one of the World Series of Poker events in Vegas. Annie decided that it was worth the chance and she entered the 1994 WSOP main event where she placed thirteenth. After winning money in the main event she started playing cash games in Vegas for the rest of the month and she kept seeing success. At this point Annie and Ben Duke moved to Las Vegas so that she could continue playing poker professionally on Ulimate Bet.

Annie has been playing poker professionally now for over a decade and has amassed quite the resume which has made her one of the best poker players in the world. She won her first WSOP bracelet in 2004 and in that same year she won an invitation only event for poker champions with a first place prize of $2 million. You can still see Annie playing in many of the large buy-in events on the WSOP, WPT and other events as well as television shows. Duke is constantly asked to appear on poker television shows and she has made more appearances then most poker players in the world.

Annie has appeared on television shows like Poker After Dark and she has also hosted an UltimateBet television show with Phil Hellmuth where the two needed to choose poker teams from certain players after watching them play. Annie also has her own book and DVD series training poker players to become professional poker players just like she has. Just recently you might have remembered seeing Annie Duke appear on the Celebrity Apprentice.

Currently Annie Duke is living in Los Angeles and taking a break from the cash game action to spend time with her family. Annie has four children who she cares for dearly and this limits the amount of time she can spend playing poker these days.

* Phil Ivey is one of the best if not the best poker player in the world all around and has been for years now. Phil, who endorses www.FullTiltPoker.com has won a countless number of tournaments and he also competes regularly on the FullTilt Poker website where he does very well. Ivey has won over $1 million in H.O.R.S.E. Poker this past year alone and I’m sure he’s going to try and break the $2 million mark this year. He placed in many of the large HORSE Poker events including the $50,000 H.O.R.S.E. event and the H.O.R.S.E. event at WSOP Europe.

* Steve Sung is a very notable poker player and although he isn’t as popular as some poker players he has a lot of talent. He has also won over $1 million this past year in H.O.R.S.E. Poker and he competes both in live events and online.

* Gus Hansen is another one of the Full Tilt Poker pros who can play any poker game and see great success. Whether it his aggressive nature or a bit of luck Hansen has done well in HORSE Poker and is definitely a player to watch if you like excitement and action.

* Patrik Antonius who is the most popular young gun in poker right now has been racking up the winnings in many poker games. He hasn’t had much practice playing HORSE Poker yet, but he has played the game and competed with the best players in the game. I expect Patrik will continue improving his game and soon will be one of the most feared H.O.R.S.E. Poker players.

* David Oppenhiem is a poker pro who doesn’t receive much media attention, but he has amassed a nice collection of winnings in H.O.R.S.E. Poker cash games this year at Full Tilt. He regularly is seen playing the high stakes cash game at FullTiltPoker.com and he has over a half million in winnings this past year at Full Tilt alone.

All of these players deserve to be on this list and over the past year we have seen them all do very well in the H.O.R.S.E. Poker live events and online cash games. There is no doubt there are many other great HORSE players as well as many up and coming players. The game hasn’t even gained its full momentum yet in the poker world and once more players begin playing the game and improving there skills I expect the competition to become tougher for these pros listed above.
